Children’s Aid and Family Services is committed to the health and safety of our clients, staff, volunteers and supporters. To help ensure everyone’s wellbeing, we have made some changes at our locations: STRIVE Day Program, After-School Respite and Community Activities will be closed until further notice. There will be no tours of any of our facilities or non-essential visitors at our locations, and office staff is working at home in support of our programs.

Our STRIVE team has been temporarily relocated to our group homes for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. They are doing a great job keeping the residents engaged with games and activities and giving support to our Direct Support Professionals.  The Center for Alcohol and Drug Resources is providing online recovery support services for individuals and family members – and also providing community education about self-care and healthy activities during this difficult time. Our clinicians that work with vulnerable children and their families are organizing group and individual therapy utilizing cellphones, video and Facetime to ensure our clients receive the help they need, especially in a time of anxiety. The moms at Zoe’s Place are safe and healthy, spending time reading to and playing with their babies, and taking classes online.

We believe that we are all in this together, and will update you regularly on how we are adapting our programs and services to continue to help the community during this time of uncertainty. We appreciate all of you and wish you good health.

We have changed our annual spring fundraiser to a virtual gala, which is happening on Thursday, March 26 at 7:00 p.m. This is one of our major sources of support, and we hope you are able to participate! We will be sharing information on our silent auction items with you soon.

The work of helping vulnerable people only becomes more essential during a crisis like this. Because of you, we are still here, still helping.
